We went on a walking field trip to Campo Verde High School to visit the students and teachers that are involved in the Toybox program. We were celebrating Week of the Young Child. We were given a very special entrance and introduction. They set up a carnival for our students that included a variety of centers and games for each child to visit. Some of our classes favorite games were basketball, golf, face painting and making pudding. They ended the day with some special songs and dances for everyone. It was a great trip!

Dr. Seuss Day!
It was a day to celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday! We had read some of his classic books such as ABC, Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat and The Hat. Everyone worked on writing "I would eat them".... We worked on some rhyming words. To finish our day at centers we made red and white pattern hats to wear home.

Snow Day!
Our snow day began with snow being delivered to our kindergarten playground. The kids were so excited about getting to go and play in "real snow". Some students said they had not had this experience before. In the morning we read the book "The Snowy Day" and we discussed all the things that you could do in the snow. Once outside the kids had a great time building small snowmen, throwing snowballs and making snow angels. Thank you to the parents that helped us with this activity.
Later that day we did a graph asking if they would rather live where it is sunny or snowy. I was surprised that after our snow day it was still about half and half. Some kids felt that there were some advantages to living in a sunny place such as being able to ride your bike or playing football anytime.
