Thanksgiving Program

Our class had a great time performing our Thanksgiving Program for their families. They worked very hard to learn all of the songs and hand movements.  We practiced for a couple of weeks with the other kindergarten classes.  Some of the songs included were "We Give Thanks", "Fat Turkey" and "Over The River".  Great job kindergarten!

Art Masterpiece

Mrs. Howard came into our classroom to do an art masterpiece lesson.  She taught our students all about Edward Hicks (1780-1849) who was a Quaker who began his career as a painter of wagons.  This painting was called "Our Peaceable Kingdom".  The painting has animals and young children assembled together, and in the background he features William Penn and Native Americans signing a peace treaty.  She brought in a cake for the class to decorate as a "peaceable kingdom".  The children drew pictures of people and or things that are important to them.  Some examples were their pet, their mother, flowers rainbows, etc.  They really enjoyed this lesson!  Thank you Mrs. Howard for another great art lesson.

Fall Party

We had a wonderful time at our classroom fall party. We started with six centers that included pumpkin crafts, games, dressing up and making spider cookies. Everyone enjoyed some yummy treats before heading out for the school wide book parade. It was great to see all the kids dressed up and ready to go! Thank you parents for making this a fun day!

Teddy Bear Clinic

On career day Mrs. Mesneak brought in Teddy Bears and gave a lesson on anatomy.  The children then went back to their tables and took care of their own bears in the "teddy bear clinic".    She brought in all the equipment needed as well as gloves and masks.  It was great to see each child take such good care of their "patients".  Some of the bears needed band-aids while others required a cast.  This was a wonderful way for the students to explore a career in the medical field.
